Bread Pudding

1 egg
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 ½ cups warm milk
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup cubed bread (stale or dried)
¼ cup dried currants
2 teaspoons butter

METHOD:
Beat egg and sugar together. Add hot milk and vanilla. Mix well. Place cubed bread and currents in baking dish. Pour liquid mixture over the bread & currents. Sprinkle top with a few knobs of butter. Cook 350 degrees F for approximately 30 minutes.
