Cloud Biscuits

2 cups flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup shortening
1 egg beaten
2/3 cup milk

METHOD:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. In another bowl combine egg and milk and add to dry ingredients – Mix all at once. When mixed, knead gently approximately 20 times on a flowered board.

Roll dough from center outwards. Do not roll too thin. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Place in a pan leaving a space between biscuits. Brush tops with a little milk or melted butter. Bake in 450 deg. oven for approximately 20 minutes or until done.
