½ cup soft butter
½ cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1 cup milk

METHOD:
In a large bowl cream butter and sugar, add egg and mix well. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Add flour mixture & milk alternatively to the butter mixture. Knead gently. On a floured board roll mixture into a oblong form. Place into a 9X13 inch pan.. Brush top with milk. Make design with a fork using tong points. Bake in 375 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes.
