(Halifax, NS) – JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter Old Man Luedecke will perform in support of his upcoming untitled release, due out March 16 (Black Hen Music), at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax on Friday, April 30 at 8 p.m

With three albums to date, Luedecke took home the 2009 JUNO Award for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year and multiple 2008 Nova Scotia Music Awards for his latest release Proof of Love (2008). He has been called “One of Canada’s best kept secrets” (Chartattack) and “A real gift” (The Coast).
Luedecke has been a featured performer at all the major folk festivals in Canada and Australia and a number of American festivals, including California’s Strawberry Festival. He has shared the stage with Feist, Joel Plaskett, David Francey, Buck 65, The Be Good Tanyas and Jill Barber. He has also shared festival stages with the likes of Bela Fleck, Tim O’Brien, Jack Elliot, Kris Kristofferson, Ashley MacIsaac and countless others.
The Boston Globe said, “His voice and music have such a lovely easy going lilt that you might just be fooled into thinking being a “banjo songster” is simple stuff. It isn’t.”
Exclaim said, “Witty, rollicking folk. The Haligonian troubadour is quickly approaching national treasure status. Favourites like “I Quit My Job” had the crowd stomping and yelling their faces off.”
Luedecke is currently finishing up work on his new album with producer Steve Dawson (Kelly Joe Phelps, Coco Love Alcorn) in Vancouver. The album will feature a batch of new tunes and instrumental and vocal contributions from Grammy Award-winning, American bluegrass singer-songwriter Tim O’Brien.
