Festival Bloomsday Montreal 5th anniversary…Music – Film – Readings – Walking Tours – Lectures Storytelling – Pub O the Day
Festival Bloomsday Montreal is a celebration of Irish-Montréal heritage, culture and literature.
Celebrated worldwide, Bloomsday is a tribute to Thursday, June 16, 1904- a Dublin day in the life of Leopold Bloom as depicted in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses. 
June 12 – Sunday  * Irish Montreal Walking Tours:  Re-purposing Griffintown and Little Burgundy – Montreal neighborhoods with strong Irish roots.  Two groups offered – one in English and one in French: 10 a.m. – 12 noon |$15
* Bloomsday Brunch at EVOO Restaurant, special menu offered: 11 – 3 p.m.
* Molly Bloom performed by Kathleen Fee followed by a Pub Quiz at Irish Embassy Pub: 5:30 – 9 p.m. |$10
 Monday, June 13  * Mistakes are the Portals of Discovery: Eye-opening talks by experts from Concordia’s School of Irish Studies including visiting UBC professor Derek Gladwin: 10 – 3 p.m. |Free
* The Bloody Irish – a film of the musical about the Easter Rising. Only screening once in Montreal with an introduction and Q & A, at Cinéma du Parc : 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. |$13.50
 Tuesday, June 14  * Stories Told and Sung- featuring the grand old songs by singer Kathleen McAuliffe and stories by Margaret Nicolai and Jan Gregory. Atwater Library: 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. |Free
* Ulysses, sorted: Reading James Joyce’s Ulysses – for beginners or those who’ve given up, led by Sylvie Hill from University of Ottawa at McGill University, 688 Sherbrooke Street: 7- 9 p.m. |$10
 Wednesday, June 15 From Bloomsday to Happy Days: Samuel Beckett re-imagines Molly Bloom.  Talk by Concordia’s André Furlani at Concordia: 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. |Free
* Finnegans Wake: Join the group reading & lively discussion during this book club’s meeting at Westmount Public Library: 7 – 9p.m. |Free
 Thursday, June 16 – BLOOMSDAY! * Dramatic Readings from Ulysses – with local media personalities and actors  at Westmount Public Library, Westmount Room: 11 – 3 p.m. |Free
* An epic of two races: Jewish and Irish Memory in Joyce’s Ulysses – Bloomsday closing lecture by Abby Bender of NYU, author of Israelites in Erin: Exodus, Revolution, and the Irish Revival. At the Jewish Public library, reception to follow: 7:30 – 9 p.m. | $15
