Founder of the Knights ofColumbus

 

Father Michael J. McGivney   1852 – 1890  founder fraternal society that would one day become the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization – the Knights of Columbus,   Michael J. McGivney’s parents, Patrick and Mary (Lynch), had arrived fromIrelandin the great 19th century wave of Irish immigration. Michael was the eldest of 13 children

He was ordained in 1877

Died in 1890

2000 Miracle reported  2003 – Healing Reported

2008, March 15 – Pope Benedict XV1 declared Fr., Michael Mc- Givney venerable.

It is hoped the beatification of Venerable Michael Mc- Givney will become a reality soon.
