Biography: Irish folk singer, songwriter Belfast Andi carrying on the ancient Irish bardic tradition inNorth America.   Born inBelfastIreland, Belfast Andi” as he is fondly known, lives in Montréal with his wife Diane and their three daughters.

Andi hosted close to 2,000 sessions in and around Montréal where local musicians can trade tunes, songs and jam together.    And where all forms of acoustic music can be heard.

 Tribute to Folk singer Stompin’ Tom Connors born in New Brunswickand raised in Prince Edward Islanddied on Wednesday March 26th, 2013 at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife Lena, two daughters, two sons and several grandchildren.

On his website a few days before his death Stompin’ Tom wrote thatCanadakept him “inspired with its beauty, character, and spirit.”

 

Plans are being made to celebrate Stompin Tom’s life next Wednesday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre
Prime Minister Stephen Harper tweeted

“We have lost a true Canadian original. R.I.P. Stompin’ Tom Connors. You played the best game that could be played”
