Sir John A. MacDonald Monument

Father of Confederation, John Alexander MacDonald was born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 11th, 1815. He moved to Canada in 1820 and became Canada’s First Prime Minister on July 1, 1867. John A. MacDonald had a dream to build a transcontinental railway across the continent.
A monument to Sir John A. MacDonald can be found in Dorchester Square, Montreal, Quebec.
