‘Soldier’s Tear’

A soldier now a poet, his rifle now a pen,
Pours his thoughts on paper, to be shared with his fellow man.
Thoughts of Day Landings, comrades side by side,
Settling The Issue, Supreme Sacrifice.

A soldier now a poet, his rifle now a pen,
Word he now composes, help to ease war time pain.

A soldier now a poet, his rifle now a pen,
Returned to his country, thankful to be home again.
Never forgetting memories of war time years,
Picked up his pen, shed a soldier’s tear.
