TALBOT, Terrance Vernon, 1938 – 2010

October 22, 2010

Our sincere condolence to Terry’s daughters; Tracy, Karine and Alexandra Talbot.
his grandchildren Stéphanie and Patrick Lepage and Halia Gendron, our sympathies also to his dear friends April and Frank O’Donoughue in Mansonville, Quebec, his long time friend Sharon in Halifax, the many musicians he loved and cherished and all the many other people he called friend.
Terry was loved by all and will be missed and remembered with much love.

Terry was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton and although he moved to Montreal his heart never left his native land. He loved Cape Breton, the culture, the people and especially the music.

There was never a kinder man with such great love and respect for all the talented Cape Breton musicians. Terry knew them all and he knew every tune they played.

Terry often talked about Cape Breton Tartan …saying he was going to have a kilt made. Well Terry, I feel sure you are now clad in your much loved Cape Breton Tartan.

I think Terry knew and respected every fiddler that ever came from Cape Breton Island. They were his friends and he was theirs. The feeling was mutual.

Terry are the angels in heaven playing the fiddle? I’m sure they are.

I can invasion Terry sitting in a heavenly place, leaning back resting in his chair, eyes closed, smile lighting up his face listening to the best music he ever heard.

Terry, we will miss your wonderful smile and the joy that showed on your face when you heard a good fiddle tune.

Keep smiling down on us. We need that warmth to get us through this sad time.
