The poshest street in Scotland

Only five of the top 20 are outside Edinburgh itself and only three outside the capital’s postcode area.

The street where former Rangers chairman David Murray lives has been named Scotland’s most expensive residential road.

The average house price in Belmont Drive, Edinburgh, is a whopping £2,346,000, according to a Bank of Scotland survey.   The gated community lies in the shadow of Murrayfield Stadium.

2nd place went to Ettrick Road, which an average house price of almost £1.9million.

The street is in the EH10 postcode, where residents include authors JK Rowling, Ian Rankin and Alexander McCall Smith.

Dick Place, in the city’s Grange conservation area, took 3 place with houses costing around £1,628,000.

The first non-Edinburgh address is Hill Road in Gullane, East Lothian, in 4 place with an average £1.33million price tag.

Two Aberdeen streets make it into the top 10,

Glasgow failed to get a street in the top 10 but Countess Gate in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, came in at 11th with an average of £1.06million.

The small town is known as a favourite address for footballers and is full of luxury homes.
