Treacle Scones

Ingredients: ½ pound flour
½ teaspoon Soda
½ teaspoon Cream of Tartar
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Ginger
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 Tablespoon Treacle
1 ½ oz Butter
Buttermilk to mix

Rub the butter into the flour; add dry ingredients and mix well. Melt the treacle and mix with a little buttermilk. Stir into the flour mixture. Add just enough milk to make a stiff dough. Knead lightly. Roll out to three quarter inch thick. Form into a round and cut into eight triangular pieces. Place on a greased sheet. Bake in a hot oven for ten to fifteen minutes.
